Good teaching is more the giving of right questions than the giving of right answers

It is even more effective! It seems that almost all students that try online tutoring prefer the online setting. It keeps them focused in the comfort of their own room or home, less distracted, and engaged with the technology, graphs, formulas and tools at their and their instructor's fingertips. They are more attentive and learn better! It is rare that a student prefers face to face tutoring over online tutoring after experiencing it. Moreover, time and expense and safety from traveling by car, and the spread of covid... are avoided. Finally, a colorful pdf file of all the problems covered is emailed at the end of each session and captures all the work in a digital format for future and easy reference.

Simply click on the link emailed to you when you book an appointment, or click on the math, chemistry or biology room in the TUTORING ROOMS tab at the top of this page at your appointed time, and you'll be tutoring right away! 

The student can share his/her screen so that the tutor can see it, and likewise, the tutor can and will share his or her screen so the student can see what the tutor is writing and demonstrating. 

If you have a touchscreen, it can be useful, but it is not necessary at all! Just have paper and pencil/pen handy. A calculator is helpful too. That's all you need!

Yes. You can tutor straight from your phone!

Math Tutor Plus uses Google Meet as its tutoring platform. No app is necessary. You will receive a link to the Google Meet tutoring room in an email when you book an appointment, or you can click on the TUTORING ROOMS tab at the top of this page at the appointed time, and you'll be tutoring right away.

We schedule tutoring appointments Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm, and Sundays if necessary. 

Sessions are $70 per hour, and there are discounts for multiple sessions in a week, or for SAT/ACT prep packages of 3 or 5 lessons. There may also be promotions throughout the year.

You can pay through Zelle, Venmo, Cash App or Paypal. Please see the payments page. If you have a Paypal account, you can pay with credit cards and other forms of payment such as Google Pay and Apple Pay if you link them to your Paypal account.

Payment is expected prior to the tutoring session to finalize the booking and to secure your reserved time.

Cancelations and rescheduling must be made 24 hours prior to the appointment for a full refund/credit.
